Spoken For 9.22.12: Revisited

Finally, here is my recap for the first annual Spoken For event that took place at Sandbox Studios last September here in Portland. Not only was it the introductory "alternative bridal" event of its kind here in my hometown, it was the first time I dipped my toes into what can sometimes be an intimidating experience. The event was hosted by the lovely gals of The Weaver House and Chelsea Howard.

The space first off was amaze-ing...I have never been to Sandbox Studios before but when I set up the night prior, it had me at its open wide spaces. I saw other vendors bringing in what seemed like their whole studios in fact, some even building/painting/hammering their booth environments right before our eyes. I decided to keep things fairly simple and have people kick up their feet in my makeup chair for a complimentary "lip service" touchup. It was a nice way to get to know brides-to-be and chat with friends who came to support while simultaneously perking up their pouts.

The vibe was just right, laid-back and just plain "cool". When I had a minute, I oggled other vendors' tables as they sucked me in with their visual (and appetizing) delights. To hear more about the other long list of vendors, check out the Spoken For Facebook page for photos and other recaps. A round of applause to our Spoken For hosts, they know how to put on a darn good show and made all of our initial fears of the typical corporate bridal show fly out the window.
